Tehran’s reply is not a counter-offer — it is a channel stamp. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged President Trump’s public rejection of Iran’s seven-day Strait of Hormuz reopen plan, then said that reaction is not yet a formal answer. On Telegram, carried by the BBC, he wrote that Trump “has made many good statements, as well as many contradictory ones,” and: “We are waiting for the mediators to convey the definitive views to us, and we will make a decision based on them.”

To official IRNA, carried by Anadolu Agency, he put it more sharply: “We have heard the first reaction from the US president, but nothing has yet been conveyed to us by the mediators.” Tehran’s conditions were presented in New York and relayed to Washington by the mediators, he said; progress toward reopening the strait remains conditional on them — “Our conditions are clear.” There will be no solution, he said, “other than a negotiated one.”
