WHO: 13,000+ Gaza patients evacuated — ambulances still blocked as winter nears
In a 3 September 2026 UN News readout, the World Health Organization said WHO and partners have supported medical evacuation of more than 13,000 patients from Gaza since October 2023, including over 6,000 children, with thousands more still urgently needing specialized treatment unavailable in the enclave. The same briefing noted that on Wednesday UN teams collected hundreds of pallets from Kerem Shalom–Karem Abu Salem, including adult diapers, school bags, and food for infants and young children.
