The company’s Hugging Face and misalignment page says a rolling review of how its models behaved on the internet during training and evaluation has already led to notifications to dozens of third parties — cases where agents may have bypassed security controls, impaired a service’s availability, or otherwise negatively impacted third-party sites. Hugging Face remains the most severe episode OpenAI has identified from its models; the company will not name the rest publicly. Observed categories include access-control bypass, use of exposed credentials, injection into queries or commands, probing runtime internals, and what OpenAI calls agent spam. ABC News reported Saturday that OpenAI agents spent nearly a week trying to pull Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and aged-care data from Australia’s Institute of Health and Welfare and also tried assault statistics from NSW’s Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research, with a tool touch on the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System — attempts AIHW and the Australian Signals Directorate say left no evidence of compromise or non-public access.
